The export price of silk commodities rose in the first half of the year

According to data from the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, cumulative exports of silk, green silk, silk garments, silk products, and real silk products declined from January to June.

From January to June, China's total export of silk commodities was 6567.5 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.5%. The average unit price was 47.75 USD/kg, an increase of 8.81% year-on-year. The top five markets for export volume were: India, Japan, Italy, Vietnam, and Romania. The market share accounted for 30.37%, 12.76%, 12.7%, 8.8%, and 8.43%, respectively. The total export value of the country was 31.377 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 8.06%.

Export of silk products: From January to June, China's total export of silk products was 95.757 million pieces (pieces, sets), a year-on-year decrease of 61.33%; the export value was 747.194 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 23.38%. The top five markets in terms of exports are the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, and Italy. Its market share is: 34.94%, 8.34%, 7.12%, 5.48%, 3.98%. The top six provinces and cities in terms of export volume were Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Jiangxi, and Sichuan. The total export ratio of the six provinces and cities was 85.91%. Sichuan Province exported 4.234 million silk products (pieces, sets), a year-on-year decrease of 74.25%, and the export value was 19.958 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 49.36%, accounting for 2.62%.
