The local Christmas gift industry started from the 1990s and has been developed so far. There are 71 Christmas gift production enterprises in Linxi, and there are more than 300 individual workshops. The main products are Christmas gifts, wooden photo frames, and glass bottles. There are 1500 varieties of intellectual toys and other four categories. Most of the products are exported to more than a dozen countries such as North America and Western Europe. As far as Shanxitan Village is concerned, more than 2,000 of the 2,860 people in the village are engaged in this industry. At the same time, this industry also radiated to surrounding areas such as Taoshan, Chaoji and Lumu, bringing about 15,000 jobs.
Upon entering the village of Xitan, I saw villagers carefully decorating their own gateways and the streets of the village: Santa Claus banners, trees decorated with colored Christmas paper, bridges decorated with colorful bells... The Christmas tree at each door of the house is decorated differently. One villager said with a smile: “These are all handmade Christmas gifts that we produce.†It is understood that the current Xitan Crafts and Gifts Festival lasts for three days.
