EU accuses Brazilian textile import of new regulations hinders exports

The European Union’s implementation of the increasingly complicated customs clearance procedures for imported textiles and garments in Brazil has affected the export of EU textiles and garments, and has raised serious criticism.

The contents of the report show that last year Brazil announced new laws and regulations to implement more stringent inspections of imported textiles and clothing products, and to reduce the import of illegal and illegal textile and garment products. The EU pointed out that worse, the 'Plano Brasil Maior' economic development plan will provide indirect subsidies or tax deductions for certain manufacturing industries including textiles and footwear; this will enable exports to the Brazilian market. These products are even less competitive.
