In the first half of the year, Portugal’s textile and apparel exports earned 2.061 billion euros

According to statistics released by the Portuguese Association of Textile and Apparel recently, in the first half of 2011, Portugal’s textile and apparel exports performed outstandingly, with exports earning 2.061 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 13%, which is the best performance in the past four years. Portuguese Textile and Apparel Association pointed out that according to the current situation, Portugal’s textile and apparel exports will exceed 4 billion euros this year.

Statistics show that in the first half of this year, the export of Portuguese cotton textiles increased by 34.9%, and the export of textiles of plant fibers and chemical fibers increased by 37.7%. In the export products, clothing and knitwear accounted for 38% of all products. The main export markets are European countries.
