China's textile industry is actively responding to difficulties and high costs

Wang Tiankai, President of China Textile Industry Federation, gave a keynote speech on the economic situation and countermeasures of the textile industry at the 7th annual meeting of China Textile Industry Round Table. The internal and external environment facing the textile industry in 2012 is still very complicated, with fluctuations in raw material prices and the labor force. With factors such as price increases and the financing environment for SMEs not yet being substantially improved, textiles may face greater difficulties as a competitive industry.

In 2011, it was the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan. Overall, the structural adjustment and industrial upgrading of the textile industry continued to advance, and the quality of operations improved steadily. The growth of various indicators for the year was basically normal, and the overall operating situation was stable. However, the various risks faced by the industry's operations have increased significantly over the previous year. Raw material prices have risen and waned, environmental tightening, various factors and labor costs have increased, and external demand has slackened. These factors have increased operational pressures, industry production and sales, and investment. The growth rate of benefits has slowed down quarter by month and the decline in benefit growth has been particularly prominent. The operation of small and medium-sized micro enterprises below the scale has encountered major difficulties.

Wang Tiankai believes that the economic recovery in developed countries such as the United States and Europe, which are the main consumers in the international market, is weak and the unemployment rate remains high. It is expected that the growth in international market demand will remain weak, and the lack of demand, competitive pressures, and trade frictions faced by export companies will become more prominent. Despite this, the basic attributes of textiles and clothing as a necessities of life determine that domestic and international market demand will not shrink substantially. In particular, the domestic market fundamentals of our country have not changed and the income growth of urban and rural residents will remain no less than economic growth. The speed, various policies and measures to improve people's livelihood and expand domestic demand will also continue to be implemented. As inflation pressures are gradually eased, domestic demand for textiles and clothing is still steadily expanding and continues to be the primary support for the development of the textile industry.

Wang Tiankai said that at the same time it should be noted that although the competition in the international market is becoming more intense, China’s textile industry has an integrated competitive advantage formed by a mature and complete industrial system, and there is still a clear international competitive advantage in terms of variety, quality and market share. . At the same time, the market forcing mechanism formed by the tight external environment has brought about a new round of industry reshuffling and promoted enterprises to accelerate adjustment and improvement. Therefore, it is expected that the production, sales, and benefits of China's textile industry will continue to grow in 2012, and the major operating indicators of the above-scale enterprises are expected to maintain double-digit growth, but the growth rate will be slower than that of the previous year, including the end market The price increase for consumer goods is even smaller, and it is expected that the decline in the growth rate of the industry's exports and benefits will be even more pronounced. The difficulties faced by small and medium-sized processing enterprises below the scale will become more pronounced.

Speaking of measures adopted by the textile industry in response to difficulties in 2012, Wang Tiankai emphasized that in accordance with the central government's requirements of “speeding up economic restructuring and strengthening self-coordination and development”, we should take measures to actively respond. Including, paying close attention to the operation of small and medium-sized micro enterprises and export-oriented processing enterprises in the coastal areas, promptly reporting to the relevant government departments their operating conditions and policy appeals, and promoting the implementation of national financial support and structural tax reduction policies for small and medium-sized micro enterprises. Overcoming difficulties, stabilizing employment, transforming and developing to create a good environment; strengthening industry self-discipline, standardizing market order and trade behaviors, and preventing excessive competition; actively communicating and coordinating with relevant government departments, striving to promote the reform of cotton circulation system, the bottleneck of printing and dyeing, and the burden on textile companies Breakthroughs have been made in key policy areas, and the basic work of industry-oriented exhibitions, domestic consumer development, public platform construction, technology and information consultation, industrial transfer guidance, independent brand construction, and promotion of management innovation achievements have been carefully carried out for the stable operation of enterprises.
